CTA is a joint international institution of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States and the European Union. Established in 1983 and operating under the Cotonou Agreement with the Centre based in Wageningen, Netherlands. Active in 79 ACP countries and dedicated to assist organizations in formulating and implementing policies and programs to reduce poverty, promote sustainable food security, preserve the natural resources base and thus contributing to build a self-reliance in ACP rural and agricultural development.
CTA activities contributes directly towards the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with specific focus on goal 1, 2, 5, 8 and 13 (No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth and Climate Action respectively)
With youth driven and digitalization strategy CTA partners with Farmignite to support in leveraging access to finance, markets, create pathways to the creation of Job opportunities and promoting precision agriculture.
